About David McKinstry
David McKinstry has been the Secretary (Director) of the Georgian Group since 2016, having previously worked as a regional caseworker for the same charity for eight years.
He studied history and architectural history at the University of Oxford and is completing a Doctoral degree on the subject of early nineteenth century Italianate architecture in London. He has published research on English tourists in Italy in the post-Napoleonic period, the influence of Inigo Jones on nineteenth century architects, and the work of the Georgian Group in its early years.
A talk on how the Georgian Group, the national charity for the preservation of Georgian buildings has dealt with the challenges facing Georgian country houses in England and Wales in the 20th and 21st centuries, and what the future may hold.
