About Dr Charles Trotman

Dr Charles Trotman is Senior Rural Business and Economics Adviser at the CLA. He has overall responsibility for rural economic issues, in particular CLA policy relating to rural tourism, rural development and telecommunications. Recently, he has been responsible for the CLA’s response to Covid-19. Prior to joining the CLA in 2002, he worked for the NFU, London Guildhall University and as an
economist in Brussels.

Rural businesses will have been dramatically affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, some to the point of closure. More than ever it is important for businesses to be able to rebuild at a time of fundamental change. This seminar will examine what businesses need to consider when operating in the changed marketplace and how they can remain sustainable.
